Lessons from the Owners Manual #176

Lessons from the Owners Manual #176 It has been my honor to conduct several funerals over my lifetime, even before my minister career. Words over dying men in Nam come to mind. But at "regular" services, I don't call it a funeral. I call it a Home Going Celebration. This is much easier to do if the deceased is known to have accepted Christ. If they haven't made a profession of faith, I still have to give the family some kind of hope. They are in the Hands of a Just and Merciful God. That's really ALL I can say, unless I have personal witness of the person's life. I have personal witness in the life of Anita Garrett Richards. Her funeral will be tomorrow, November 1st, in Huntington W Virginia. Anita, her son's Kole and Ben, were baptized by me in Old Hickory Lake in summer of 2023. Anita knew where she was going. While I am unable to attend today, the message from Anita is clear. Don't let her family circle be broken. She now waits for a...

Lessons from the Owners Manual # 175

Lessons from the Owners Manual # 175 Why call Me Lord, Lord, and not do the things I command of you. That's pretty clear, why do we call Him Lord, if we are not doing what we are told to do. Things like feed the hungry, help the poor, treat the wounded and sick, and all the other things we are supposed to do. What about the things we DO that we ARE NOT supposed to do? What if we don't smile back when someone smiles at us? Just a friendly wave can change a person's day. What other things can we do to gain favor in His eyes? Would really like to hear what you think about this question. What are some things we all can do, to serve our Lord? Let me here from you, what are your ideas and plans? What can we do to "be about our Father's business. " Looking forward to your response. God bless .

Lessons from the Owners Manual # 174

Lessons from the Owners Manual # 174. Today, I have a question for all of you. Listen carefully If a law were passed in our Nation that being a Christian was declared to be illegal, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Not what you would say, but your past actions, would they prove you are a Christian? Have your actions, your treatment of others, your pattern of prayers, for others and yourself, does it follow the teachings of Christ? We just quoted from Luke..." why call me Lord, Lord, and not do the things I command" ? (sic). What is the evidence you can post that could convince a court of law that you are indeed a follower of Christ? If you would, think about this question. Would you write down some of the proof? Love to hear from as many of you as possible. Thank you for reading these Lessons from the Owners Manual. So appropriate your comments, and participation. God bless ALL of you.

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL # 173

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL # 173 FAITH (cont.) We asked in the last lesson who you thought had the greatest amount of Faith in the New Testament. Very few answered, hopefully some of you remember the question, and still question the answer. My opinion:(and this is just my opinion) .Jesus and 2 thieves hanging on the cross. The one thief says to Jesus " if you are who you say you are, get yourself down, and take us with you " [Davis Translation] 2nd thief says, basically, " shut up, we deserve to be here, this man has done nothing " . Then he speaks to Jesus.." Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom" THINK...everyone else thought it was the end for Jesus, His mother and a couple other folks were at the foot of the cross, waiting for the death, grieving because they thought it was over. His close followers were so afraid they were going to be killed, they were hiding out on another hill. EVERYONE THOUGHT IT WAS THE END OF THE LINE...exc...

Lessons from the Owners Manual #172

Lessons from the Owners Manual #172 Luke Chpt 2, vs.49 After finding out that Jesus was not with the family after they had left Jerusalem, they found Him in the temple, asking, and answering questions of the priests. Mary kinda got on Him, asking why He had put them through all that worry and stress. His answer? (Davis translation) didn't you know I had to be doing my Father's business?" [ Know ye not that I must be about my Father's business]. Makes me wonder, are we about our Father's business? Every day? How so? Well, I pray! That's good, that's what we are suppose to do. Well, I go to church! Ok, forget not to assemble yourselves together. But find the part that says; I was hungry, tired, naked, sick, etc. Those are the things mentioned. Love your neighbor as yourself...that is a commandment. Can others see the love of God shining through you? Can they FEEL the love of God through you? This is what our goal is today, be about our Father's bus...

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL #171

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL #171 Been a bit since I have written one of these, but I have been practicing, a lot. Just finished reading the book of Daniel again. Amazing is all I can say. My Spiritual Eyes have been opened, and more understanding of the book of Revelation granted to me. It is kind of scary, yet at the same time very comforting to those that love the Lord. Folks, we are living in the last days. No one knows the exact day, only God Himself. But the signs are all lining up. 99% of Bible Prophecy has already come about! Why would we doubt the other 1%? I have no doubts. I am going to use this lesson, #171, to encourage everyone. If you have accepted Christ as your Personal Savior, good for you, now get busy doing His business. If you have not accepted him Personally, would like to pray with you. I don't care what religion, what church, or how much you might have been hurt by "Christians " wasn't God. Just pm me, and let's talk. God bless all of ...

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL #170

LESSONS FROM THE OWNERS MANUAL #170 Faith vs. Worry This past few weeks have been working with a few people who are literally worrying themselves to death. And they just don't get it. Nothing changes because of Worry except your health. READ THAT AGAIN. Did you know that Worry is mentioned more times in the New Testament than Salvation? And it is always followed with the answer...DON'T. Worry is the opposite of Faith. Try exercising your faith more today. Exercising it will make it grow stronger. Jesus said cast your cares on Him , He can carry them, if you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior. If you have not, then I would like to talk to you, one on one. Just pm me, and we will not go public with it. God bless all of you, and please, just for today, don't worry! God Bless.
